Do you feel overwhelmed by the problems of the world?
Do you feel like you can make a difference and make a big impact?
A lot of times we feel helpless because the world’s problems seem so great, and we feel so small. The biggest thing you can do make an impact on this world is to heal yourself. When you heal yourself, you change the vibration that you put out to others. It does not matter how you try to do things in the world, how much you try to serve others or how much you try to help or uplift, your efforts are going to be carried only so far as the state of healing you are in. When you are wounded, and we all become wounded throughout our lives at different points in time, we don’t have as much to offer. We are in a place of needing. Because of our wounds, we are needing to heal. When you heal yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually you are able to offer other people healing, as well.
There was a case of a psychologist in Hawaii, Dr. Hew Len, who healed an entire ward of criminally insane patients without ever meeting with them. He did it by looking at their charts, discovering what it was in them that was suffering, looking within himself and determining how he contributed to that problem, meaning in what ways did he have those same types of unhealed wounds in himself, and he healed them in himself. As he healed these wounds in himself people in the ward began to heal “miraculously.” That was his technique. He healed others by healing himself, and it was so powerful that this entire ward was cured. When we put our energy towards being healthy and being well, on all levels, we actually raise the wellness of the world. We raise the vibration of the world.
Say someone you love becomes addicted to alcohol. In their sickness, they not only bring down themselves, but they bring down everyone around them. Their sickness effects everyone who loves them and even those who do not. It hurts the hearts of the people who love them to see someone they love going down the tubes, and everybody in their life is affected by this person’s behavior. In their sickness, the person starts behaving in ways that aren’t loving and healing to others. Everyone they come in contact with gets pulled down by their disease. This is not to shame or blame someone who has become addicted to alcohol. However, if you think that not taking care of yourself only impacts yourself you are wrong.
When you take care of yourself you are give without even trying to give. You give to others because you are well and this wellness is being splashed out onto the world just as in the case of a person’s illness. When you are ill, you suck from people, pull from people and bring them down rather than up. So I ask you, are you ready to invest in yourself, not just today and tomorrow but for a lifetime of your own wellness and make your wellness as your #1 priority, above anything else? This is why they tell you to put on your oxygen mask before even your child’s oxygen mask. If you are not well, you cannot take care of your child. Your wellness must come first and is the way to making the biggest contribution to the world.
