Generally when it comes to wellbeing, balance is a great thing, but there are times when balance is bad and is actually harmful.

Let’s look at the times when we need balance.  Balance creates health and harmony when it comes to our diet.  Balanced meals composed of whole foods have been proven to bring health and resistance to disease.  When it comes to our daily activities and our daily rhythms, having a time to work, a time to play, a time to rest, time with others, and time alone, creates good health, stronger connections, and reduced stress.  Having a balanced exercise program, being balanced in your spiritual connection, being balanced in your critical thinking verses what the group is doing, are all ways balance benefits our lives and creates health, but there is something that must not be balanced.  Your dreams!

Your dreams, your goals, and your standards do not benefit from balanced living.   I always say to imagine the biggest and best goal you can think of and triple it.  Go higher!  You can have or be or do anything you want in this life.  If you lower your standards, or you lower your dreams because you just want to stay in balance and not disappoint yourself, you will have a substandard existence.  We are so powerful that we create our own life experience. There are people who will tell you not to let yourself feel too happy or too sad just try to stay at an even keel.  Baloney!  Feel all of your feelings fully, because they guide you.  Your feelings tell you when you’re moving in a good direction or not.  They help you expand and grow.

Aim Higher

When it comes to your dreams, don’t ever let anyone try and squash you.  Some of the greatest leaders of the world were told they didn’t have what it took and they took that criticism and used it for themselves.  They used it to expand, grow, and achieve that vision that the doubters could not imagine.  Whenever someone tries to bring you down, it’s because you are above them, and there is no shame in that.  Their criticism comes because they aren’t dreaming big, they’re not thinking big, and so they’re threatened that you are.  They have created, in their own mind, the reality (which is true in their way of thinking) that life is a certain way, but the only way that your life needs to be is the way you want it to be.  These grand dreams, passions, and goals you have for yourself were put there for a reason.  They are there to guide you and support you in your purpose.  You must not squash them down in order to be balanced, moderate, or harmonious.  Reach for the stars, and you will create total wellbeing.
