In what area of your life are you settling?
Meaning that you’re not taking the risk to make a change to do things a little differently or experience life a little differently because what you have right now is comfortable and familiar. Would you rather be comfortable and in a familiar scenario or would your rather be deeply fulfilled?
Often times to become deeply fulfilled we need to take risks in our life, which is not comfortable. It’s not comfortable for anyone to step into the unknown. There are a lot of growing pains that comes with it. A lot of fear that comes with it. But we don’t need to get rid of our fear. We just need to be courageous in spite of our fear and do something different practice a different way of being, because when we do this, we set up a new groove in our self a new a pattern that eventually creates a new way of life for us.
So if you could look at your life and ask, in what ways am I just moving along, muddling along getting through it because this is the way I know how, and this is the way I’ve done it for 10, 20, 40 years. See if you can take one little aspect of that and try something different. You might not think there’s a different way, because you’ve been doing it the same way for so long and it may look like there are no other options, in the world. One example is financial strain. When you’ve maxed out your credit cards, and you’ve taken out loans, and you’ve done everything you could financially, and you feel like there’s no way out. How am I ever going to get out of this mess? Or there’s no way for me to earn more. What way could you do something a little bit differently? What other options are there? There’s always a better way. There’s always a different way. It’s like when you hear someone has committed suicide, what do you think to yourself? I know, I always think, but, things could have gotten better. Tomorrow is a new day.
We all have down days. Sometimes we have down weeks. Sometimes we have down years, but it always flips around. It’s the nature of life to change to rotate to be born and to die. If you can stick with it and say what do I have to lose? Nothing’s killed me so far. I’m going to step out and do something different. It can be some tiny little thing. Make your bed a different way than you normally make it. There are all sorts of ways to make a bed, but we get stuck in our rigid patterns. Sometimes that something is to step back and not doing so much. Being in a place of being, quietness and letting life come into you a little more.
How can you look at your life and say I’m going to look at this differently? In what way can you do something different? Write it down. Look at it. Prepare yourself, if you need to, and pull the trigger. Pick something and give it a try!
