Do you ever feel like you’re searching for your place in this world?  Where do you belong?  How do you fit in?  Who are your people?  What is your true career path?

Last week I decided to sit down with a homeless person for an hour and pick his brain.  A different perspective.  This person was highly intelligent and very aware of spiritual truths, however the reason he was in that condition was because he felt like he still hadn’t found his place in the world.  He focused on the things that were wrong with the world, the injustices that he had seen in the world.  And so He didn’t want to be a part of those injustices, and he moved in his own direction.  He stood up for what he believed in, but he was still searching for his place in the world, and he hadn’t found it.  This man was not even 30 yet, but he looked like he had lived a hundred years.

moonflagWhen you don’t know your place in this world, when you are searching for your place in this world it’s time to claim it.  You were meant to be here!  If you look at every one of your strengths, talents, assets and focus on those and claim those no matter what anybody thinks of you, that is claiming your place in this world.  If you go wandering and searching trying to find some opening for yourself, you’re not going to find it.  You are meant to be here.  You are rooted in this earth.  Down to core!  You just may not know it yet.

When you claim it, that’s when others will claim you, and honor you.  The irony is that people are actually waiting for you to claim it.  The universe is waiting for you to claim it.  It’s not waiting for you to find it.  When you stick your flag in the ground and say this is who I am, this is what I believe in, these are my values, these are my strengths and talents, that is claiming yourself.  The more you do that the less you will need to search for something, because you are searching for something that’s already here.  It’s you!  You can’t find you out there.  You is right in here.

I hope that you don’t disappoint us.  I hope that you claim yourself and give to the world the gift of you, because there is only one you, and I, for one, would like to see it.
